Re: USA Internet Use Stats ftth- Thanks for the government report. The report does seem to support the traffic is doubling every year figure. But as you say, it doesn't support the traffic is doubling every three months myth. But then again, wonder what the rest of the world looks like? Wouldn't it be great to get a report that encompasses the worldwide stats. I believe this is where the real growth in traffic will come from as long as it's a dialup world. -MikeM(From Florida) _________________________ The data show that the overall level of U.S. digital inclusion is rapidly increasing: -The share of households with Internet access soared by 58% since the last Census survey, rising from 26.2% in December 1998 to 41.5% in August 2000. -More than half of all households (51.0%) have computers, up from 42.1% in December 1998. -There were 116.5 million Americans online at some location in August 2000, 31.9 million more than there were only 20 months earlier. -The share of individuals using the Internet rose by a third, from 32.7% in December 1998 to 44.4% in August 2000. -If growth continues at that rate, more than half of all Americans will be using the Internet by the middle of 2001.
