those evil partisan dem. judges handed bush the election. they gave gore a deadline he could never meet for recounts. they must all be closet republicans, such a partisan decision.

The FLSC is trying to save face. They realize they made a mistake when they first extended the deadline, seeing that Gore wasn't willing to follow the rules. They originally appeared biased to many. The fact that even a couple of SC justices questioned their original decision doesn't bode well considering it was 7-0. They don't want to be considered "biased idiots".
