<< Something else to consider, is that some companies might not warn because of investment losses. The idea might be that normal operations have been in line, so why bother. >>

In fact, I bet the investment losses will be "neutralized" by making them into special charges. Even though the investment profits were reported as real profits. The corruption and dishonesty in tech earnings reporting is that bad now.

Good observation on INTC. I tend to shy away from the semis as I have been burned trying to short MU via puts too many times only to see it outlast me before finally falling into the abyss. Fooled me once shame on you, fooled me twice, shame on me type thing except it was more more than twice.

Just read where someone is having trouble reading market predictions intermingling TA with FA and getting a direction out of it so figure I should talk down to a easier to comprehend level.

My market expectation. Rotation from the DOW to the NASDAQ in a brief rally before dropping back down to test the 2250 NASDAQ support level. Overall market as gauged by the SPX to test the 1274. I expect the FOMC on the 19th to drop tightening bias and then start dropping rates in 2001. Ya'll get that down yonder?

Those support levels remain to be gauged as to if they will hold longer term or not. Reasons are as I have posted. To put it more simply, keys are Dollar strength, reduction in NASDAQ commercial shorts, increase in commercial SP00 shorts, TA as posted on site and the FA I posted here over the past day or two and more on our site. Of course as discussed, an earnings warning from SUNW, CSCO or GE would kill everything. Dollar is short term over sold but one can not ignore the huge weekly Bearish Engulfing candle which points to future weakness after a short term bounce. reasons for above: COT showed the drop in NDX future shorts and increase in SP00 shorts. TA shows the 1.62 target for NASDAQ reached and mid tine fork bounce. FA is too much to repeat.

Maybe I should just post nothing and then quote the emperor on Star Wars, "Things are proceeding exactly as I have foreseen" over and over again. ROTFLMAO!

Good Luck,

Lee
