r. edwards the article in this weeks Barrons, Seeing The light, is an informative over view of the lay of the land, in the broadband networking arena. It starts with the recent past developments, and carries on through to the present. The optical networks, come out on top, because of the growing capacity requirements, to the broadband networks. Also advances in MEMS switching technology sound promising. We may not be as far away, as we think we are, from developments in switching technology, that could lead to the rudimentary implementation, of Cao's vision, of the architecture, of the optical networks, in the near future. .
