RE:"Maria Cantwell is the new senator from the state of WA! She won by over 2000 votes."

And Slade didn't even ask for a hand recount.

Jim,

Because he knew it was senseless to ask for one.

Never in the history of WA has a machine recount reversed an election nor even effected the vote count in a significant way.

Gorten's loss was sealed after the first count.

Jimbo - Re: "And Slade didn't even ask for a hand recount."

You really have no knowledge of the situation. You should get some information before you pop off at the mouth.

1 Slade received a recount by operation of law because the margin was less than 0.5 %

2 Washington uses optical ballots that are much more accurate than punch card ballots. The recount hardly changed the results, as has always been the case in the past. The winner in WA has never changed in a state wide recount.
