I'm not arguing politics or desirability; I'm arguing facts. It takes 2.48 times as many Californians to elect a Presidential elector as Rhode Islanders. And this is what the authors of the Constitution intended.

But the intent was not to prevent fraud; it was a compromise to get the small states to join the Union. They were afraid of being overwhelmed by the large states.

Or so my history books claim.
