Thanks Marc-I have had the @HOME cable for a year ( I can't remember the month it was installed)- At the beginning it was great- and I was smugly telling all my friends on phone connections how great it was- since then it has been a steady downhill slide- unstable- data would stall- many disconnects -no mail- time out of many trading sites- charts wouldn't load etc etc Initially I blamed the computer ( new) then CSW, then the cable modem then the 'pipe'. The technician was just here- and said it wan't my imagination- Kingston was bogged down by one main'pipe' that fed Queens Uni- with over 5000 subscribers- they would all log on before going to class and download napster music for hours-they also found a lot of 'pirate connections and modems' Also the old LAN modems were less reliable(?) He changed up the modem and said this side of town is now on a separate 'pipe. So far I'm still up and it does seem faster.
3pm ( not too critical) will be the acid tests as thats when it has been the most unstable. Thanks for the reply.
