Funny how people forget that this thrashing of the market is still under the Clinton administration.

The market was booming until your buddy decided to raise interest rates six times. I really don't understand how you can make these bizarre remarks.

The "Clinton market", on balance, hasn't been all that bad for most people:

Of course Clinton (or is it Gore?) is responsible for all the down days, Reagan and Bush for all the up days. I've got to remember the party line...
