The FL SC decision was vacated. That's what Bush wanted.

Ken, talk about spin!!!! I'm sorry, but I do not see where they refused to do anything until after the Florida SC was able to find what basis in law their ruling was made.

The US SC has not tackled any of the other issues. They're questioning the basic validity of the Florida SC ruling.

Not really. The Court will decide the case on the narrowest grounds possible. They were not sure from the FL SC opinion how the federal issues were addressed by the FL SC if at all. JLA

The USSC declined to answer the so-called federal questions raised by the Bush petition for writ of certiorari. It is pretty difficult to spin that result into a Bush victory.

You do realize that none of these court battles matter don`t you?

The founding fathers of this country have already given a remedy to theses kind of disputes. The courts will not decide who won the election.

That power rests with the already elected peoples representitives of the FL state legislature. Always has always will.

It seems to me that Gore is trying to sue into the presidency. That will never happen. The election was so close a winner will never be able to be proved beyond a doubt on either side. Gore or Bush.

You can whine and chant all you want about every vote must be counted. And counted how we want them counted. But in the end the U.S. is a republic and the power of a state to elect its electors rests with the state legislature. PERIOD.

The people of FL have elected a legislature that is 2/3 republican. That is the end game here. All Gore is doing is dragging the country down a dangerous path in his headlong quest for power.
