Joey,

The only way that Gore can hurt his career is by appearing to be a quitter. He has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, by fighting to the bitter end.

Re: I think you'll now start seeing public opinion and key Democrats turn against him...then its up to Gore if he wants to commit career suicide.

I think Gore committed career suicide by managing to lose an election that occurred during the longest period of expansion in US history, against an inarticulate opponent, and with the backdrop of the per capita violent crime rate at a ten-year low and continuing on a falling trend, teenage pregnancy per capita at its lowest recorded values, a nation not faced with any significant military threats. In short, practical utopia.

The man is a self-righteous, unlikeable grinch whose post-convention campaign was offered almost entirely as a gratuitous and revolting neo-Populist, borderline Marxist redistribution program.

Gore was gone whether he conceded graciously or not. There's no way the Democratic Party will allow the man to run for President again (edit: because of the first paragraph and not the second).

As to your last statement, Republicans will have the House and Senate, as well as appointment of at least three SC justices. Gore is actually doing the Democratic party a big favor by fighting for as long as his efforts weaken/delegitimize Bush.
