Andreas, New price cut: 1 GHz Athlon for $182 on December, 14th.? Very disturbing news, if true. 1.1 and 1.2 Ghz Athlons have not even appeared at retail, yet. Demand must be very weak. On the bright side, this is going really put the hurt on Intel. I'm beginning to think that Drew Peck is right. Pravin.

<C't has some (unofficial) news on AMD's next price cut: Apparently it is scheduled for December, 14th and the 1 GHz Athlon price will be reduced from $350 to $182. > Nice aggressive move. Should help market share. <I hope that they will release a 1.3 GHz Athlon the same day or shortly therafter to avoid further ASP erosion> Release doesn't matter. Need to have wide availability of AMD and ALI DDR motherboards. Something that doesn't look like will happen until early Q1.
