I am reading an interesting book about torture, about what type of mental steps a person has to go through to become a state torturer. Chapter One was about Argentina, and I skipped ahead to the British torture of some IRA agents. The first step is belonging to an organization that tells you that what you are doing is right, and you believe them without question. Gore is the type of person who never questions whether he is wrong, imperfect, misguided, or biased. He is sure that he is always right. Maybe it's just that I am a Catholic looking at all these Southern Baptists in amazement. Clinton, Gore, Gingrich, Tom Delay, they are all saved already. They already know it. As for me, I have to keep going to confession.
