<What other motivation can there be for becoming obsessed with issues completely removed from our lives? Freedom is taken for granted, and instead we focus on Presidential cigars.<

Scumbria, I don't know how much point there is in even trying to make any of these points. The sentiments of so many people seem to be "I believe what I believe, I don't want to think about it, I don't want to know if there's more to the issue than I understand, I believe what I believe". This fear and paranoia about actually trying to understand complex issues and look underneath the surface is truly scary.

Thinking about these things and trying to discuss them intelligently just can't be done. Instead, you get labeled as a "liberal" or whatever. I'm not sure what the definition of that is, but, if its someone who doesn't just have visceral reactions to things and then internalize those reactions to the point that they become beliefs...well, I guess I'm one.

Good thing Clinton/Gore was able to "create prosperity," or else we would never have the luxury of denouncing perjury or expecting honor out of the Presidency.

Of course, it's all just a "right-wing conspiracy."

A stock market drop

RE: "Presidential cigars."

I do not understand how you can discount the reports re: Clinton's behavior towards one of his female workers whose husband had died. If there was anything that ever needed investigating, it was that, and I never understood why that wasn't investigated.
