byhiselo ... re commercial hedgers and S&P futures ... maybe Aaron Task knows what he is talking about, but from what I know, it is not futures prices that 'drive' the S&P 500 Index (the SPX), but that the actual prices of the 500 stocks in the index that determine the index price, which in turn determine futures prices. If you or anyone else has a more accurate or better understanding of how that works, I would like to hear it.

Aaron Task should also know that, as of about two months ago, the Commitment of Traders data is released every Friday.

My opinion is that he is clueless, but I could obviously be wrong.
