the double edge sword.
Of cheap technology.
the double edge sword.
of innovation.
the double edge sword.
of the best.
and the brightest.
and all the smart people.
getting together.
and making money.
and saving money.
sometimes it really sucks.
sometimes
i wish all of the technology dudes.
had gone out and lost the money.
Somewhere.
Along the lines....
Before they started playing this game.

rok ... each to his own opinion as to what the FOMC will do. The market's in a bit of a Catch-22 situation, isn't it? If it does poorly they want to do something to save it, but if that looks like it could work, they may take the steps that could kill it.

Re developing the skills to play short: There's nothing wrong with shorting as a tool for portfolio growth in bad markets. Just don't become the type of shorter who feels he has to go onto message boards with distortions, lies, and attacks on management in an attempt to scare the price down.

I rarely short because I find I'm uncomfortable wanting two or three stocks to go down at the same time I'm rooting for the market to recover to raise my 15 or so other stocks with it. It has to be a pretty obvious situation for me to go short on a stock, and if it's so obvious, it's probably too late for me to make money on it.

Good luck to you. Just don't short MY longs.
