I am not assessing credentials, although he has had plenty of losses, as I understand it. I am simply observing that if he is right, there is no reason for your morbid fretfulness.......

My wife thinks Carville is the goofiest guy in the political universe, but the proof is in the pudding. Before Clinton in '92 he guided Wally Wilkinson to a huge upset victory over John Y. Brown Jr. (Mr. Phyllis George at the time) in the Kentucky Democratic gubernatorial primary in '86. I'd rather have him in my corner than in my opponent's corner.

Flapjack,

Frankly, I agree with your wife on Carville being goofy. However, I am confused. John Y. Brown Jr. was KY gov between 1979-1983 and Wallace Wilkinson was gov 1987-1991. In KY the gov takes office in Dec following the Nov general election with the primary in the spring. During that period the governor of KY could not succeed until a constitutional amendment was passed later on that has allowed us to have our current gov. "General" Paul Patton for two succeeding terms.

This is the first that I have heard that James Carville was involved in Ky politics. Please inform me more on James Carville's role in Wilkinson's campaign as I am very interested.

He and Larry Flynt pack quite a one-two punch. You are known by the company you keep....
