The fact is that both parties used the legal system to protect and/or advance their own interests.

Srexley, are you forgetting that all Al Gore did, after being down 327 votes, was ask for a hand recount within the 72-hour period prescribed by Florida law? And just as New Mexico allows selective hand recounts in specific counties, which the Bush team has taken advantage of, so did Gore make a similar request. It's just that the GOP went nuclear when he made his request and were the first, like a scared rabbit, to head to the federal courts in a bid to override a state issue. Bush did everything possible to block the hand recount, thus setting the table whereby he could become a president who won neither the national popular or electoral college vote.

Gore started it, and Bush is responding.

Bush's filing for an injunction against the requested recounts started it.

I suppose you think the sky is not blue either.
