If you kept it through next Thursday you mean?

It would be cash settled I guess. Per next Friday morning's Open.

Never tried that, but that's what they would do if it were SP so I guess ES is the same.

it settles to cash
last day to trade however is Thurs, 12/14
(same as most cash-settled index options)

I don't mind letting my index options settle to cash, but, depending on your strategy and style, some like to close it out themselves (or roll)

don't wait till the last minute if you don't want it cash-settled (expire)
