I guess I'm still not accepting the lying part. Maybe he forgot who he went with on this trip -- he has been in service for 24 years, one forgets all the "business" trips one has been on and one flood looks pretty much the same as another when you're on a plane!! :)

I recently terminated a professional relationship with someone because he felt the need to lie to me about some business deals he had engaged in on my behalf.

I terminated the relationship simply because I cannot accurately predict future events unless I have accurate information. Had he come to me and confessed what had happened, I could have dealt with it.

As it was, he felt it was necessary to lie to me and try to "fix the mistake" without my knowledge. His "fix" resulted in catastrophe for not only himself but for me.

I found out what was happening anyway, and when I confronted him, he simply lied to me and shook my hand and said he was telling me the truth.

End of professional relationship.
