my continuing down the DSL/ISP discussion I felt was, BWDIK.

IMO, if you're going to be serious about scalping futures, you'll probably want a direct link (VPC?) to your broker or perhaps even direct to CME/globex. of course, if you want no delay, da pits da place :-)

there's always a delay (however miniscule) when you're getting quotes over the internet. however, I don't believe I've seen it (normally) as bad as 3sec.

i don't intend to scalp ES however, and my goal is not to sit in front of a screen all day long.

daytrading (scalping) is an expensive game. redundancy costs $. it goes back to that papertrading vs. real discussion.
