Ah, guilty by association....

>>I have still not understood how the conservatives got aligned with the religious right <<

I'm not a religious person, and I'm not sure what is meant by "right", but I wouldn't align myself with a party that viewed me as some they needed to "fight".

Liberals: those who run up the tabs;
Conservatives: those who pay the bills.

e.g. in the typical family, the daddy is usually the dreary beragged conservative who pays for the Gap-clad chirpy liberal daughter.

ramifications: party with the liberals, they are more fun, but if you have to trust your money with someone, try the conservative. if you are a member of the ethnic minorities, and speaking as one myself, like the half person in the average 4.5 family, hang out with the chirpy daughter but keep in mind that it's the dreary old man whose income ultimately decides if the dinner is dry doggie biscuits or yummy steak.

As a liberal, please explain to me why liberals seem to think they have the right to spend other people's money. Especially those who are born into wealth and never have to get a real job e.g. the Kennedys.
