Yo justone,

10Ge will be PTP, just like Ge. The shared collision detection CD scheme will not be deployed over geography.

Hi Justone,

So, you think that 10GbE is a great marketing idea, but it really isn't Ethernet. Is that the jist of your message?

I'll have to return to this later on today, or over the weekend. But I just wanted to ascertain that the sentence above accurately reflects your points and views in a nutshell.

Hi Justone,

Ethernet is a market brand name for whatever IEEE 802.3 standardizes.

IEEE 802.3 has allowed collisionless Ethernet since it became a standard in November 1995 (along with Fast Ethernet).
