"...if you don't believe Brinker is good or worse yet believe him to be a charleton, then why would such a person care or even be here for that matter ?"

I think Bob is a businessman, not a saint. He gets paid from ABC to host a radio show that he uses to entice listeners to subscribe to his newsletter. I have no idea what he makes from ABC, but if you make a few assumptions about the number of subscribers and the cost to produce the newsletter, you can see he is minting a small fortune from it.

All this is fine. It is the American way! I used to love to listen to Bob's show. I believe Bob is basically an honest and ethical guy. It gets to be a bit gray though when he misrepresents his record by omitting the advice that goes against him. Also, he seems to feel his work should have privleges that go beyond that provided by law.

Now the rumor mongers would have us believe that Bob does this all for the fun of it and to be generous, and that because someone is making a few sheckles by interpreting his work, he is quitting.

I dont have any idea why Bob is quitting, if indeed he is quitting. It is hard for me to believe he would turn his back on this money-making machine he has. If he does quit though, I am pretty sure it is for some other reason. I could only speculate on what it might be. Maybe someone making a few bucks legally interpretting his work irritates him and maybe he will give that as a reason (I have never heard him even say he is leaving), but I dont think this is the real reason. MAKES NO SENSE!

As far as the big silence mentioned, the show now is about the same as silence...a total waste of time.

So why am I here on this board. I guess it is out of nostelgia...miss the old show...the way it used to be...and hope it come back.

Pete, I am a long time listener to the Moneytalk show. BB signed his contract to do a MONEY talkshow. He has stiffed ABC and his loyal listeners the past few months. If he has issues with a certain person regarding email summaries he (or ABC) has every right to TRY to legally halt the publishing of whatever he doesn't like. This IMO doesn't include holding back market info on the show. Speaking of legalities...would this be a breach of his contract?? It would be interesting to hear how ABC and local affiliates feel about BB's new weekly "Its in the newsletter...not on the radio" format. BB, forget about all the bs swirling around and do your job!

Human nature. It's easy to get caught up in a cycle of complaining and degrading others.

Degrading a person is sometimes an attempt to avenge a previous insult from that person. This could apply to people who Bob ridiculed as "bad news bears." Or maybe a hard-sell broker is out to avenge Bob's assessment of their efforts as "shark attacks." Yet other times, degrading others is an attempt to overcome a feeling of inferiority.

Regardless, it's easy to get caught up into a confrontational exchange on these threads.

Best wishes,

I2
