Iso, there are a lot of companies buying acreage up in the MacKenzie Delta/Beaufort Sea region, with several rigs scheduled to begin drilling up there over the next several months. I think Gulf Canada (GOU-$4 1/2) is sitting on a bunch of gas up there - something like 2T's, just waiting for a pipeline to bring it to market. I think this will get a lot of play over the next year as we find ourselves looking for new, sustainable sources of natural gas. GOU has about 540 million shares out, and is buying back stock. 2 T's = 300+ mmboe, and at $4.00/boe = another $2.50/share. (disclaimer) I'm long Canadian E&P's. Very cheap.

Isopatch, I am scratching my head wondering why the Prudhoe Bay P/L/ is called the "Buford Sea project". That implies a seaboard route. Yet like you I understand the route to be overland through Canada to Seattle.

Good ol' Prudhoe Bay. It bailed our "heinies" out in the 70's oil crisis, and now may do the same with gas issues in the early 2,000's....Long live the fair dame of Prudhoe Bay!
