Barry; Dang good post! I will be interested to hear the responses from those more experienced than me...... I have used settings of 7% on Buy and Sell on some accounts....not changing them to try to time, but thinking that I could capture somewhat smaller moves up and down..and therefore profit more from being able to buy and sell more often..............comments on that thinking is welcome from all.... Hi Barry, You asked:Do you change these settings for timing purposes? If yes, why? If no, what if anything do you do to prevent any subconscious influences? I have an AIM program using Alliance Capital Management (AC). It was originally purchased solely for income because of a very nice 8.8% dividend. After about 18 months the price had more than doubled. The dividend had been increased but by enough to keep the %yield at 8.8%. that was when I started the AIM program. I funded the Cash reserve by selling about 16% of my holdings. I set the buy safe at 10% and the sell safe at 20%. This has nothing to do with timing. Since this security was purchased mainly for income, I am not as interested in TRADING it. I set the safes where I did because I wanted to emphasize buying as opposed to selling it. This is absolutely not a recommendation for continually changing the safes after an AIM program has been established. Bernie
