Neocon, You have excellent taste. I have many on your list as favorites. I have liked Hemingway ever since I read, "Hills Like White Elephants" and didn't get it. So I read it again, and still I didn't get it. Then I read a couple of study questions at the end of the story and the bulb lit. I was thinking that a contemporary topic like abortion would not have been addressed at the time he wrote that. I was floored. I have not read any Saul Bellow or Sinclair Lewis. I need to read more and used to knock off at least 50 books a year. In the last five I would be lucky if I read that many, with the exception being non-fiction which I still find time to read. HAGO looks like a good day for the Bush camp. Its over. TH
