Mike -I've adapted a 90/10 on most of my portfolio. This year my timing has been perfect.... a perfect negative correlation.
I never thought I could of lost the whole 10%.

I also learned (the hard way) that your Reply # 83381 to me was good advise.
1) Leaps are better than calls.
2) writing uncovered puts can cause huge losses on even small positions.

I'll add two more. Don't try and catch a falling knife, even after it bounced off the floor. (WCOM, AAPL)
Not to cash in on a good short candidate too soon. (ASKJ)

Being down 2% for the year seems good, after the major problems I had.
But, it still may be my worst year since 1974.
(Ouch -since I could of taken the year off and made 8.5% in ROYpr)
