RE:"1. They were told by KH that they would be breaking the law.
Not the first two times they refused.

RE:"2. They didn't feel they had enough time.

They had the time...Broward finished and Palm Bech would have easily had the counted over thanksgiving.

3. It was Thanksgiving. They had Republican thugs outside, and they didn't think they had enough time.

Thugs? These were the observers. They had been locked out and told Dade was only going to count disputed ballots.

RE:"Had they been giving a real opportunity, the votes would have been counted, and Gore would have won. And you know it."

This seems to be the Dem mantra. NO, I don't know it and the evidence doesn't suggest it. Dade said it didn't. Dades partial recount said it didn't. On top of that, Gore stacked the deck and couldn't come up with the votes...even with 3 heavily Dem counties...plus Dade which isn't as heavily Dem...
You seem to be watching a lot of CNN and MSNBC these days.
Little Mika Bzezinski and her easel of phantom votes for Al...

Scumbria, re: Miami-Dade, I think they had thugs, er, I mean Republican Congressional staffers shipped in for the "Holiday" inside too. I wasn't following the story closely at the time though. Maybe Jim was there.

Cheers, Dan.

Re: Had they been giving a real opportunity, the votes would have been counted, and Gore would have won

I heard a reporter from the Miami Herald being interviewed on the radio yesterday. Florida law has many freedom of information clauses built into it and one of them will allow the the paper the chance to view the ballots. So they are going to do so. There are various forms to fill out, etc. And arrangements must be made to have county workers handle the ballots themselves while the reporters look at each one, but the Herald is going to do it.

So, a couple of months into Bush's presidency, there is a good chance that it will be conclusively shown that he actually lost (but this will have no legal bearing).

It will make for interesting times.

Regards,

Dan
