After all, those ballots can be obtained under the freedom of information act. It is important to get the correct count now, not find out later we were wrong.

The question is if a hand recount increases the subjectivity of the outcome. I think it does. If you look at what occurred in Broward County, you see that they changed the standards WHILE they were counting. The FL Supreme Court issued no guidelines as to which votes to count. It is now in the control of the local canvassing boards.

Unfortunately, I dont think that there will ever be a "correct" count. The results are within the margin of error of whatever counting mechanism you would like to use.
