You are completely wrong, Jozef.

This ruling was on the appeal of Judge Saul's ruling. That ruling was on Gore's contest of the election. The USSC ruling was on Bush's suit to stop the recounts (which they didn't hear) and to overturn the FLSC ruling to extend the deadline (which they remanded to the FLSC).

There is no deadline on the remanded case. The FLSC could send their reply to the USSC in March if they wanted.

So, to repeat, the Gore contest is what was ruled on today. Gore seemed to prevail and they are going to count all the undervotes. This has nothing to do whatsoever with the USSC decision.

I know this is confusing, so I hope I helped

I think the US SC will slap these ambulance chasers back to the swamps whence they came. The only problem is we investors continue being punished by the uncertainty. regards

Don't you have a feeling that FL SC has defied the US SC?

The Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court thinks they have defied the US Supreme Court. His opinion begins on page 40. Here are a couple excerpts.

-------------------------------------

WELLS, C.J., dissenting.

...

Importantly to me, I have a deep and abiding concern that the prolonging of
judicial process in this counting contest propels this country and this state into an
unprecedented and unnecessary constitutional crisis. I have to conclude that there is a real and present likelihood that this constitutional crisis will do substantial
damage to our country, our state, and to this Court as an institution.

...

Third, under the United States Supreme Court’s analysis in Bush v. Palm
Beach County Canvassing Board, wherein the Supreme Court calls to our attention
McPherson v. Blacker, 146 U.S. 1 (1892), there is uncertainty as to whether the
Florida Legislature has even given the courts of Florida any power to resolve
contests or controversies in respect to presidential elections.
