John, I believe that the Constitution puts the matter of the election of the President in circumstances now contemplated into the House of Representatives. In the House, the state delegations will vote, and the winner will be the one with the most states. Republicans have the majority in 28 of the state delegations, to 22 for the Democrats. I do not believe the Senate gets to vote. We will see.

OT/Tim Russert was on last night with a different ending:

Picking up at the end of your post....it goes back to the gov of Florida. The Gore team obtains an injunction from the Florida Supreme Court ordering Jeb Bush not to act. He defies them, is held in contempt and the Fl. Supes order he be jailed.

Do not agree or disagree with this scenario any more than I do with yours.

My point IS that there are so many possible outcomes to this mess that to hold forth that any particular outcome is in any way assured is misleading.
