Hi, Sauk--

If CPU's were truly commoditized, they would not be enjoying the "high relative selling price for a PC chip" that you note. Further evidence that Intel is a gorilla is its ability to push the RDRAM standard, and to force the move to the Pentium IV architecture--which freezes AMD.

Of course, if I'm wrong the P4 will fall flat, and I suppoose the jury isn't out on that yet. :o(
