It does matter. What we are witnessing in Florida is precisely why it does matter. In two words:

Judicial appointments.

The Supreme Court should be neither pro Bush nor pro Gore. They should be pro Constitution and pro separation of powers.

wrong about USSupCt justices
I think of the 9, perhaps 6 are Republican appointmts
Reagan had a few, Bush one, Nixon a couple, Clinton a couple

these justices are not pro-Bush or pro-Gore
they are pro-Constitution

their vacated ruling was loud & clear
PLEASE CLARIFY YOUR DAFFY REASONING AND UNFOUNDED RULING

the USSupCt will not be so kind next time
the headslap did not produce any better line of reasoning
time to whack FLSupCt to the ground
complete with full consequences of deep embarrassment
I dont think the four junior justices care

...are they Pro Bush or Pro Idiots?...Could someone please clear this up for me?

I'm afraid that until this Fla. Supreme Court, no court had so little integrity as to cause someone to ask: are they Pro Bush or Pro Idiots?...

You have Justices who are Liberal, and ones that are Conservative. The liberal and conservative is in reference to the Constitution and the law. A Conservative holds to the constitution/law, and rules based on the wisdom and spirit inwhich that was written. A Liberal doesn't try to understand anything, they simply look at the law/constitution and try to manipulate it's technical terms to suit them.

Now the Conservative view is shared amongst Republicans, and the Liberal amongst Democrats. Regardless of what party a Justice belongs to, you still must listen to wether or not the Justice is a liberal or conservative. Republicans try to appoint Conservative Justices to the Bench and Democrats liberals.

A good example of a Liberal in our Government is Hillary. She's shooting her mouth off about abolishing the Electoral College. She doesn't care about the wisdom of why the Electoral College exists. She only knows that it seemed to get in her parties way in electing Algore. So it should be abolished....
