Aus - Any incusion in indexes is big.

1. There are more funds than there are stocks and many of them are index tracker and therefore have to buy the stocks that are in that particular index.

2. The whole profile of the company gets raised amongst the analyst, journalist and media communities. Its visibility is much improved.

3. Good grwoth companies with IPR holds on exploding markets like SNDKs usually get onto the next rung on the ladder ie the S&P 500 and so the acceptance factor just keeps improving.

The underlying theme is that the investment grade of the stock improves and keeps improving once it gets going on these indexes provided always that it keeps up the growth.

We have seen the growth but I think have all been surprised that the sock performance hasn't reflected the grear performance. this should help it.

Now these days days you don't get a chance to get the benfit of the addition to an index. No problem for longs of course and for those people who get the information before it gets announced. So don't look for immediate gains indeed you might even see a small drop. But after a little time then you do see good gains usually when you least expect them. Once again no problem for longs. All that nonsense down in the $30s a week or so ago was probably one of the best opportunities ever. Still it is very good news.

Best regards,

L

What do you anticipate as a result of SanDisk's selection
to the S&P Mid-Cap 400?

Look at RFMD's performance since they were added to the S&P Midcap 400 on Monday. Admittedly they had additional news to help drive the gains....but I would be willing to take half of these results <g>.

On another subject....does Siemens use CF for anything other than the new SL45 mobile phone? The reason I ask is that I believe that it was reported that Siemens made up 5% of revenues last quarter....I had assumed that this was part of the ramp up for the SL45. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, the SL45 has not yet been released. It looks like they are going to miss the projected Christmas release date.
