The SC obviously found the arguments of "irreparable harm" from W's flacks persuasive. This is my favorite:

``These ballots have degraded to the point that they are not the same
ballots that were counted and recounted on Nov. 7 and 8, 2000,'' the
Bush team said in Tallahassee, where the Miami-Dade votes were under
review. ``The `evidence' is not sufficiently trustworthy for any election,
and certainly not for the election of the president of the United States.''

Amazing how quickly bitrot allegedly sets in, when it threatens W's 150 vote lead. Must be the Florida climate.

Offhand, it looks like they're going for the W line of delaying looking at the ballots until it's too late. It'll be interesting to here the blather they wrap that up in. Personally, I hope they let "the best man for the job" write it up. Legitimacy is as legitimacy does, as somebody might say.

Cheers, Dan.

This is an amazing turn of events. And I agree, a Bush presidency without benefit of the court-mandated recount will be very problematic, IMO.

today, we have the Internet and freedom of information and once people become informed... who knows what the reaction of the people will be once more facts are known.

I smell volatility

so for me hehehehehe smells good...

MM.
Bad move. If Bush won with a proper count, at least he'd have a claim to some legitimacy...

Suppose "The Bush Babe" will be the first illegitimate president?
