>>I agree with you, though I would point out that the mess of Florida election law didn't seem to support the full recount approach.<<

federal law and common sense don't support selective recounts.

btw, a reasonable person would believe that the ONLY way manual counts can be used to contest is statewide. anything else is unfair.

both gore and bush are trying to rig the elecetion in their favor (legally, of course). bush, however, has the upper hand and left the high ground for al gore to take. al declined. i kind of enjoy the irony. ;-)

nadine, i want to be clear. george bush's policies, as a whole, suck, imho. many gop supporters scare me based on their "true believer" mentality. imho, bush was an incredibly weak candidate. the fact he is in this race is a testament to america's dislike of al gore, imho. i think it is deserved.

a decent vp in al gore's shoes should have rang up at least 55% of the vote. maybe 60%.

Florida election law didn't seem to support the full recount approach. Say what? Where did you get that from? There were no limits on what counties he could protest during that phase, and no limits (including his prior protests) on what counties he could contest.

Nadine, Did you watch any of the Broward manual count on TV? Do you really believe that process improved the accuracy of the results?
