But none of that was Gore's fault? Was it? Look, he had a right to request a recount and he requested the hand recount as Florida law allowed him to do. With a fair and balanced secretary of state, the votes would have been counted.

Regarding Lewis? Although he twice ruled against Gore, I agree with you. He seemed reasonable and rational and I was pleased to note he was overseeing the recount. I thought, after the Florida high court decision that we were finally on our way to resolving the situation as fairly as it could be resolved under the circumstances.

The Florida court, as a base, kept the will of the voter as most precious and overriding, that it is a right to vote and have your vote counted. Lewis seemed to have everything in good control. Too bad the Reagan-Bush appointees on the U.S. high court gummed it up again!
