Gersh> index trading tactics

I've been very successful trading the MID.X index via MDY CALLs; I find these (MID.X & MDY) charts "easy to read" as Berney would say (also like that TMW.X chart, too) ~ MDY is less volatile than NDX/QQQ (though MID.X is sorta like COMPX on valium or, the SPX on speed :-)

fwiw, I'm long MDY 93C right now in the trading account.

The NDX ~2520 number that Berney talks about is very important; that translates to QQQ 62-7/16 ~ 62-5/8 < 63C.

Here are my position trading points for QQQ :

1200s QQQ @ 83-3/16 < 84C

1300s QQQ @ 76-13/16 < 77C

1400s QQQ @ 71-5/16 < 72C

1500s QQQ @ 66-9/16 < 67C

1600s QQQ @ 62-7/16 < 63C

1700s QQQ @ 58-3/4 < 59C

...the way this works (for me) is that if you were bullish Friday (in the sense of "UpWave Next" rather than "UpTrend" :-) then you wanted to grab a QQQ long stock or option position on Friday when QQQ < 63.

Good Hunting (^_^)

Gersh, In the FWIW category.

I really don't believe the earnings will be affected by investment issues. Now, I'm only an accountant, but it is my understanding that investments are carried at the lower of cost or market. As long as the price does not fall below what they paid, there should be no affect on the balance sheet or P&L until the investments are sold.

There will be material situations, such as IBM's substantial investment in ITWO. They could have a good hit as the market value is below their cost. INTC's effort's to the contrary, this activity should not ever be reflected as operating earnings. Now, will the Market care that there is no effect on earnings?
