What went wrong?

Did you happen to see what the Chief Justice of the FLA SC said? My guess is you did not since he called their action unlawful and said it would not hold up under scrutiny.

From Your post:

Something just went very wrong in America.

The exact opposite is occurring in fact; the USSC is overruling the Kangaroo Court of FLA. What you are witnessing now is justice. If that hurts to look at, then it says volumes about your character.

Dave:

Your comments are appreciated, but I think most here would agree that they are applicable NOT to the US SCt, but the Florida SCt.

Just reread your post. I see use of the words "shocking, political bias, messing," to describe your opinion of the US SCt. I submit to you that those same words are MORE applicable to the eyes of MANY to the Florida SCt. and not the US SCt.

With respect to your complaining of standards, I submit that you have no clue as to the concept of equal protection. If you do, then please explain to us how different standards may be applied to similar ballots cast by voters in different counties. How can you argue that a voter who fails to punch through his ballot card in one county, has that vote counted, while another voter with an essentially similar ballot marking (i.e. dimpled) has that vote NOT counted? Can you not see (1) that it is just about impossible to determine whether either voter actual intend to punch through the ballot and (2) that if in-fact both voters intended to punch through the ballot but failed to do so, and each votes for one of two competing candidates that it is a clear violation of equal protection to count one vote in one county and not the other in another county if the first voter's candidate wins by one vote?

Something just went very wrong in America.

Yes, the realization that so many, including the Florida SCt, have no clue of one of the pillars of equal protection.
