I would not object to counting ballots in any situation because that's how one determines who got the most votes - by counting votes.

In other words, if there was a big piece of paper that had a dividing line and on one side there was a place to mark your X for Gore and on the other side mark your X for Bush, I say let's count those suckers up, all of them.

But in this situation, we are not COUNTING. We are using judgement to determine what a single voter's intent was. When counting votes, this should NEVER be allowed. If it is unclear and if reasonable people can DISAGREE wether a vote is or is not a vote, then it SHOULD NOT & CANNOT be considered a valid vote.

No one in the republican party has a problem with counting ALL votes, if what is being done is merely counting. The current process in Florida is far from just counting votes and is flawed and subjective. For that reason, it should have been stopped weeks ago.

<<Rational thought would tell you that we will never know about the questionable ballots no matter how many times they are counted. >>

Questionable says it all. Clear intent is needed.

real first hand information on the content of those ballots
The ballots will be preserved. It would shake the last glossy venier off the corruption to have the ballots destroyed before they are examined. That may well destroy the republic.
