Hi Carl - 1st thing 1st. If I ve inadvertently insulted you,

and sorrier still that you feel it necessary to resort to personal insults to make that point.

please let me know and I will apologize for my misbehavior, even though I ve clearly stated in the 1st sentence of my previous post

I hope you don't take what I am going to say personal, for it is not

that it was not my intention. Better yet, I am going to apologize in advance, no but or if.

Fair is fair, the only head you ve offered up is Mr Daley, a political operative. And seriously, again at the risk of offending you by doubting your testament, I cannot see he used the exact words "3rd rate political hack" to describe SoS Harris. I ve no particularly fondness for Sec Christopher, but it is unfair to mention his name w/o proof. Let's ask ourselves, if one says something like "someone of dubious reputation has mentioned he saw xyz amongst the bad element tonight, but I don't know if abc is there." How am I supposed to register that stmt with regard to 'abc' in my subconscious?

With regard to your concern

I'm sorry if you can't see the difference between making changes that apply to the past and ones that improve things in the future,

I appreciate it and I can certainly see the difference. In fact, if you ve read my subsequent response to The Street on a different matter

I ve made my feeling known

That said, crying over spilled milk is indeed a meaningless exercise. One cannot undo this election year. Maybe that is why the Gore camp doesn't try to do anything about it [overvote,] even though some democrats keep crying foul. To the latter, that is fate. They should focus on the reform.

However, I cannot see any reform w/o voicing concerns. The question is this: when you complained people were attacking the voting process, did you see the angry mob storming the gate or did you see the march from Birmingham! I see no angry mob except those led by the GOP Congressional aides. So I conclude it is the latter. Maybe you and I ve different vision and we can again agree to disagree.

Finally, personally, I am quite unhappy how the GOP political operatives have conducted themselve, but I ve no intention to take it out on you or ohters on the net. If my language was showing otherwise, my apology

best, Bosco
