Well in that case everything is OK. The mantra now is "Save the electricity!!" :o)

Here in Detroit the ground is now covered in snow and my heater is going on and off on an unusually frequent basis.

It is incredibly ironic that some homes are heated electrically. The power plants burn NG at 50-60% efficiency to generate electricity. It is transmitted to your home with 10+% transmission line losses. Then you turn it into heat with god only knows how much efficiency. What a wasteful process that is totally eliminated with NG heating.
