I don't understand how the USSC can develop a standard to count votes since that would be legislating and violate separation of powers themes under the constitution. The USSC also can't interpret Florida law to develop a standard since that would violate states rights. The USSC will probably say that the canvassing boards have already used their discretion in developing standards and under those 2 recounts Bush was certified the winner. I just don't see how the Court can develop a standard for counting ballots without running afoul of the Constitution.

My view along has been that elections didn't matter and only served to exasperated the selling, it has been earnings and valuation that has matter. The valuation part seems to be taken care of now, with earnings picture to be next with the FED. Depending on the econ numbers we get before the FED this month, I have feeling that the Greenspam's most recent little talk can be consider a move to neutral with a ease coming sooner then people think.
