RE:"Why is Bush fighting it?"

1. Because they have the lead?
2. Because they are not sure the recount method would be fair across the board?
3. Because his Lawyers told him they could win?

Jim

Scumbria,

Great. Let's get on with it then. If the USSC blocks the recount, Bush's presidency is doomed. Why is Bush fighting it?

If there is going to be any counting mandated by the US SC, it will be based on the same standards in all counties (using the same type of ballot). Until there are standards established of what to count and how to do it, how can you "get on with it"?

Face it, based on any objective standard, Gore loses. The only way Gore has a chance if Democrat canvassing commissions can interpret voter intent.
