How refreshing to realize we might agree on a basic overhaul of the voting system. One concern I have about your position is that it would apparently gather a good deal of personal information about every eligible citizen who registers into the hands of yet another govt agency. Being the conservative guy you are, I'm guessing you would have some concern about that. Especially since most states would likely outsource the management of the database.

Look what happened in Florida when they tried to "clean" the voter rolls. No consistency from county to county, many errors in handling the information, and no doubt many disenfranchised people as a result. And all from a private company that refuses to disclose the sources of its information. And even more ironic, a very Republican company from TEXAS.

I thought Republicans were the ones who want less govt?
