re:analysts will focus on declining margins and ASP's

declining ASPs, I'd say! anyone look at Pricewatch lately?? AMD is selling their top-of-the-line chip (1.2G) for $270...and this chip wont be ready until mid-Jan for many of the vendors....Meanwhile, Intel's availability has increased greatly across all speeds and the price deterioration is nowhere near that of AMD.

Cory:

I didn't say all was positive...What I did say is that at $17 every imaginable negative has been factored in from a technical perspective...Any company that can make $0.50 or better in a negative environment looks mighty good to me at $17...I'd be worried about your INTC baby though, who at $34 will be lucky to come in at half of AMD's Q4 eps, even including capital gains!!!

<How can flat revenues and declining EPS be a "positive".>

"Flat to nominally higher" is better than "flat."
The earnings shortfall will be comparable to Intel's especially when you see Intel's financial shenanigans like reducing depreciation.

So, "when Intel catches a cold, AMD gets pneumonia" will have been proven false.
