Well the Florida court responded to the US Supreme Court, if this makes a difference, I don't know.

And on the Palm Beach standard, they were only counting dimples if there were dimples throughout the ballot, a pretty clear indication that the voter couldn't perform the act of punching out the chad, for whatever reason.

The standard on the books prior to the elections was no dimples. They switched to the more liberal one of accepting dimples in some cases. I think they can make a reasonable case that their new standard is fair, but still, it is a new standard.

I don't think any reasonable person (except partisans like Scumbria) would consider Broward county standard as reasonable. That, and the selection of only 4 Democratic counties for recounting made Gore case inherently unfair from beginning, and I am not surprised that Bush legal team tried to shut it down.
