kash, Knox's Cnet article about rebates has nothing new. Why is he making a big deal about the $400 MSN rebate -- it hasn't changed in two years and does not affect the profits of Compaq, HP or any of the retailers in the least.

For example, he says this:
But this year, ISP rebates have been much less visible --until around September and October when retailers started aggressively promoting CompuServe and MSN rebates.

I certainly haven't noticed this. Adding $400 to all print ad prices is something I've been doing consistently all year.
