Dave,

My last apartment in the city went to $3,300 to the new guys (we paid a LOT less than that) - my landlord had a bidding war

I hope AG is not reading this thread. Otherwise, we go from neutral to reverse again. <g>

Dave, >BTW, my mortgage payment on a one year old custom home on a 1/2 acre lot in Phoenix (pool, all the upgrades we could ask for) will cost me less than my rent in San Francisco.

"I'd rather spend one day in San Francisco than a lifetime anywhere else" - Mayor Willie Brown?

Crikey, I missed that line! Osha "we regard AMD as a more attractive opportunity than Intel"
Was too focused on cobbling the table together!
Re: your pending home purchase; I'm guessing I'll be holed up in the bat-cave (basement apartment) for a few more months until my tech holdings recover enough for the down payment on my next abode.

Good luck on your closing,

d

Thats over 3 times my mortgage and I don't live in a cheap area. (although compared to San Franciso area or Manhattan its cheap...)
