It is an index of the 100 top beta stocks on the NYSE. I have found that it generally leads the market and shows strength or weakness ahead of time. Now it is down 23 and the spoos down only 3. So...even though I have the pattern flow as long right now, the beta does not support such a theory and suggests that the later short that I had planned at 14:00ish might be early and might have more strength to the downside than I suspected. Depends on what beta does between now and then, but so far, the long side is more of scalp mode than trend mode I would say, based on the beta that is.

Could not find my info, but I got this from my "source."

"It's a price-weighted index of the 100 stocks with the highest beta on the NYSE, revised twice a year."

Buzz me if you need anything else on it.....I could probably get a listing of the stocks, if I push.

:)
